AFT Poll: Democrats made a huge mistake by attacking Ron DeSantis over parental rights in education

A new poll shows Democrats made a big mistake by attacking Ron DeSantis over parental rights in education

July 19, 2022: During his State of the State Address, Ron DeSantis vowed to make 2022 the “Year of the Parent” in Florida.

Democrats from the Biden administration on down tried to stop him. And now a new poll shows Democrats made a big mistake by attacking Ron DeSantis over parental rights in education.

Several states shut down schools for weeks at a time during the pandemic, forcing students to take their classes from home online and requiring parents to become much more involved in their children’s schoolwork. Parents all across America were horrified to learn that the Left’s woke ideology – like Critical Race Theory – dominated their children’s curriculum.

And it didn’t take long for outraged parents to show up at local school board meetings and demand the left-wing garbage be removed from the classrooms. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one Republican who is willing to fight important battles like removing the Left’s woke ideology from government schools.

After he vowed to make 2022 the “Year of the Parent” in Florida, Ron DeSantis immediately went to work taking on the woke Left in the Sunshine State. DeSantis removed Marxist-based Critical Race Theory from Florida’s schools and signed a bill prohibiting biological males from participating in women’s sports.

But the most important battle DeSantis waged for parental rights was signing the Parental Rights in Education Bill into law despite a massive intimidation effort against it.

The Parental Rights in Education Bill prohibits teaching gender and sexuality to children in kindergarten through third grade and gives parents the ability to sue school boards who violate the law.

Even though the word “gay” is nowhere in the text of the bill, the Left misnamed it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and then proceeded to attack and smear DeSantis as “hateful” toward the LGBT community.

Virtually every national Democrat from the Biden administration on down publicly attacked DeSantis over the legislation. However, the teachers union just published a new poll showing Democrats made a huge mistake by attacking DeSantis over the Parental Rights in Education Bill.

According to a new battleground-state poll released by the left-wing American Federation of Teachers, the majority of voters support the educational policies championed by Ron DeSantis.

The poll found 56 percent of voters in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin were “much more likely or somewhat more likely to vote for candidates who believe public schools should focus less on teaching students about race and racism and more on core academic subjects.”

The poll also found the majority believe parents should have more say over what their children learn in school, which is exactly what Ron DeSantis fought for in Florida.

DeSantis’ Education Agenda is “a student-first, parent-centered initiative focused on setting Florida’s children up for success, ensuring parental rights in education, and combating the woke agenda from infiltrating public schools.”

Since the teachers unions are in the back pocket of Democrats, the poll even caught the attention of left-wing NBC, who admitted that DeSantis “has been smart about where to draw the line.”

Ron DeSantis took a bold stand for parental rights. The Democrats and corporate-controlled media decided to turn it into a national story.

The nightly news was filled with attack after attack against DeSantis over the misnamed “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

But with the dust now settled, DeSantis was once again proven correct.

And that is why his willingness to lead the fight for parental rights in education will help Republicans all across the country during the November Midterms.
