#BidenBorderCrisis: Biden scurries to hide his US border blunder as he locks out photojournalists

Mar 21, 2021: In an all too customary manner, Biden and his team have been frantically flailing behind the scenes trying to cover up their self-inflicted border crisis. Biden’s open border invitation to the rest of the world is already recognized as a massive fumble and act of stupidity despite his efforts to “control” media coverage of the so-called “border challenge”. Not a problem for Biden (sarcasm) as he sent his inept Press Secretary (Jen Psaki) to the podium to deliver her usual empty messages and insultingly dishonest portrayals of the day’s events.

So, this evolving paradoxical blunder now includes the dimensions of an open flood gate for incoming illegals alongside a media and photojournalist lockdown intended to keep Americans and the rest of the world in the dark. This devious maneuver is needed to allow Biden and his pathetic administration to stand in front of the cameras and lie about what is happening at the southern border. Apparently, the so called “border challenge” (a challenge which involves tens of thousands of impoverished and abused children in the hands of human trafficking “coyotes” and drug cartels) is something no one needs to know about. After all, Biden sees his handling and portrayal of the border events as being sufficient without the help of professional photojournalists and independent media.

Photojournalist John Moore considers Biden’s media blackout unprecedented in modern times. Moore (who won the World Press Photo Foundation's 2019 photo of the year) said,

"I respectfully ask US Customs and Border Protection to stop blocking media access to their border operations. I have photographed USBP under Bush, Obama, and Trump but now [under Biden] there is zero access granted to media. There is no modern precedent for a full physical ban on media access to USBP border operations. I would say that showing the US response to the current immigrant surge is exactly the media’s role [and what Americans deserve to see]." (Associated Press - Eric Mack; March 21)

More irony to this developing crisis comes from multiple news outlets who have surprisingly expressed a concern over the “iron curtain” approach being taken by Biden and his team which is in sharp contrast to the transparent and ethical approach taken by President Trump during his term. John Moore even commented on Trump’s recognition that photojournalists professionally covered border patrol and immigrant encounters without interfering with USBP operations. Biden has cited the coronavirus pandemic as his “built-in” excuse; however, this is rather difficult to accept given the border crisis involves tens of thousands of impoverished people (with estimates of covid-positive rates easily exceeding 30% amongst the illegals). Moore expressed his frustration by saying, “Pandemic restrictions are not a valid excuse to block physical media access, especially to operations that are conducted outside. There are easy alternative options to media ride-alongs." (Associated Press - Eric Mack; March 21) The commitment from the community of photojournalists is to honor professional standards in the filming of difficult and important work being done by USBP agents involving child and adult migrants – President Trump certainly respected photojournalism in this manner of trust and respect.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki has been facing increasingly intense questions regarding the general lack of media access at the border capped off by the recent lock-out. Her canned response has run along the lines of saying that this is “a privacy issue relating to the rights of illegal immigrants”. During her last White House press briefing, Psaki slipped up and uttered the forbidden word “crisis” instead of her party-line word “challenge”. When asked “does the administration now consider the challenge at the border a crisis?", Psaki blurted out the unconvincing response, "Nope. Nope."

What can we take from this short update article on Biden’s Border Crisis? Well, we are clearly dealing with a crisis caused exclusively by Biden and the DNC. We clearly have an attempt by the current illegitimate administration to suppress the media and photojournalists like never seen in recent times. We also have an administration that carves out a profile of conduct based on dishonesty, suppression of information, abuse of power, and incompetence. This crisis is measurable and eventually will be cited in American history as one of the single largest blunders to occur within the opening months of someone taking office (albeit through the theft of an election and fully noted illegitimacy).
