February 11, 2023: On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump gave his response to Biden's State of the Union address with his own "real state of the union," and said he is running for president again to "end the destruction of our country."

"I am running for President to end the destruction of our country and to complete the unfinished business of making America great again," Trump said. "We will make our country better than ever before. And we will always put America first."

Trump, who announced his run for president on November 15, 2022, said "We're going to reverse every single crisis calamity and disaster that Joe Biden has created."

Trump said Biden was "leading us to the brink of world war three."

After Biden downed a Chinese surveillance balloon in the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday after it traversed a large portion of the continental United States, the China's Foreign Ministry said their country "has clearly asked the US side to properly handle the matter in a calm, professional and restrained manner." "Under such circumstances, the US use of force is a clear overreaction and a serious violation of international practice," they added.

Tensions have increased between the US and China over the last several months, with Chinese President Xi Jinping last summer telling Joe Biden directly that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shouldn't visit Taiwan, warning the American leader that "those who play with fire will only get burnt." China began war games soon after, and launched a series of missiles over the Taiwan strait which escalated tensions in the region and with the US.

In other foreign affairs issues, the US has sent over $60 billion to Ukraine in financial aid and pledged more money and military weaponry as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asks the US for continued support following Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

In the same speech, Trump also mentioned how "Over the past two years, under Biden, millions and millions of illegal aliens from 160 different countries have stormed across our southern border."

"Drug cartels are now raking in billions of dollars from smuggling poison to kill our people and to kill our children, savage killers, rapists and violent criminals are being released from jail to continue their crime wave and under Biden the murder rate has reached the highest in the history of our country," Trump said.
